How do you feel about citizens owning firearms?
Do you think there should be limits on what type, registration databases, and restrictions on where you can carry?
Or should it be up to the person who owns the firearm?
Let’s debate firearms here!

I’m from the UK, where the gun laws are much different to those in the States.
It’s illegal to own almost any kind of firearm here. Antique (non-firing) firearms are allowed, and shotguns are allowed for specific purposes and with licenses issued and undertakings to keep them in locked, secure cabinets.
Pretty much any other firearm is illegal to possess outside of extremely limited circumstances and is treated severely with mandatory prison sentences for possession of firearm offences.
I get the arguments from both sides in the States - I really do. I suppose the reality is that guns have been around in America for so long that it seems absurd to “ban” them to stop gun violence, as there will always be illegal firearms available that can be used for nefarious purposes, and less legally owned firearms in the hands of good citizens to help defend themselves/others.
I have guns. I also conceal carry. It’s part of our basic rights. The right to bear arms.
I have guns. I grew up with guns. Shot the first time when I was 5 or 6. Now I have a few rifles and about 10 handguns. Various calibers. I shoot in all kinds of events a tournaments.
I am from Nepal. There is a law that allows you to own a gun but you can apply only when you can prove that you are under threat, which means common people cannot own a gun. The only gun I have seen close is a service gun of my police friend.
Same as AWS here.
I grew up with them and shot them at a young age. I knew they could kill a person and knew they were not toys.
I never once thought to use my gun inappropriately.
